Catch Up!!!!

It's a great thing I also keep a journal as well because I am already playing catch up on this thing!! Luckily, I have made a great new friend, Janelle, who has promised to teach me more about this blogging world which I hope will help me keep it up better. I attempted a few times to update but being even Rock is more useful using a computer I gave up and found other fun things to do! Janelle taught me a few things already so I'm ready to try again...Thanks Janelle!!! However, if this is a mess in no way do I blame her, she is a great teacher (=     Here is what we have been up too....

The very beginning of September started off with a surprise get-a-way for Ben..and me! The plan was to sneak an over night bag into Ben's car.  I accomplished this perfectly! I reserved dinner, hotel, and massages for the next morning, bought a sexy leather top and asked my  mother-in-law, Carliane, to watch Rock. Ben had no idea he only knew that "I bought a groupon that expired that night and I had no idea it was all the way in Park City"-made up story yet totally believable for me! However, a certain Mr. Someone decided he had to wear a certain shirt and would not rest until he found it. For those of you who know Ben this is just the way he is...persistent. It was the same shirt I packed in our over-night bag!!! I tried everything like "that shirt isn't my favorite anyway, wear this?" and "We will be late, maybe this shirt" and "really it doesn't match your hair"...Finally I told him the truth as he EMPTIED HIS ENTIRE CLOSET!!!! I was mad I'll be honest but he was so happy that I would put together such a get-a-way and that I would know to pack his shirt that we decided despite his anal-ness we would go and have an amazing time. We did it and it was wonderful!!! Yes, I know this picture makes me look like he bought me for the night but hey we have a very healthy happy marriage so sometimes you gotta bring out the leather.

Next came my birthday! I've never been much to care to celebrate it, however, this was the MOST special day for me. Two of my greatest long time friends both were in the hospital delivering their baby girls! I could believe it! I knew my friend Valayne was due on my bday but who really has their baby the day they are due?! My amazing friend, Carla, was induced early due to complication. I was the most anxious girl all day,!!I just sat and stared at my phone waiting for updates...I got Valayne's around 5:30pm and Carla's at11:40pm!So on September 19, 2011 two beautiful girls were born into amazing families one is Arizona and one in California. Both are healthy and home! I can sincerely say I Love both of these babies so much and can not wait to meet them!!!!

Next, was our Arizona trip. We went to visit and celebrate my little brother Samuel being accepted into Explosive Ordnance Disposal School. He shipped out the same day Mariah and Gema were born! We are so  proud of Sam. He is almost as witty and hilarious as I am though he is better on a computer than I am so he'd be a better blogger!
I just love spending time with Duggan. I have great brothers and I do hate being so far from them. Duggan ships out for the Army this coming January. I am especially proud of his hard work and persistence in accomplishing his goal--too bad he is so ugly...I kid I kid! We look too much alike. He's a real beauty.

We stayed with my brother Levi and his wife Colleen, who were more than welcoming as
always. They even let Ben fry his first turkey in their yard...way too trusting!!! Levi and
Colleen have a darling dog who is the same age as Rock, his name is Odie. Rock LOVED
Odie. In fact, 2 months later he still runs around singing "ODIE, ODIE, ODIE"

We even got to spend time with my brother Grady and his family Jill, Aiden and Maze.Rock Loves Maze so much. He has from the very first time they meet. He always has to have an arm around her or beingtouching her back. He loves her. I love it!
Rock and MaeMae
Rock and his Uncle Alex, Aunt Lakoda and Cousin Aiden.

Here is a favorite picture. Rock with his Great Grandfather Thomas King Waddell. I love this man so much. I was so blessed to have amazing grandfathers who greatly and positively affected my life. I am happy Rock was able to spend time with him.

I will have to get the big family picture from Auntie Colleen. We got to spend time with Grammy J  and Grandpa and Grandpa Crockett. I was so grateful everyone made the drive up to Levi's home in Surprise. It is a great memory we have that we ALL were under the same roof  with out any fires or fights! We had a nice trip and were so happy we were able to make it down! I love my family!!

Shortly after that while Rock and I were playing at friendship park, conveniently enough, we made a great new friendship. Here are some pictures of Rock's friend he can not live without, Ben Harris.

Rock also went to little Ben's Thomas the Train Birthday Party.

He was so excited to carry his friend Ben's present, a train of course!
Janelle is so great with Rock too. She let Rock help Ben open his presents. I loved how Rock just sat down and got busy getting into all the new toys. He is a funny boy.

I LOVE this photo! I made this chair for Rock and Little Ben made his own. So cute!

These boys are true buddies. Ben ask to see his "fren" all the time. Rock is the same. They play so well together...mostly! They are boys after all so there are tears shed. Whenever I ask Rock if he wants to go somewhere he interrupts the place I'm suggesting to say" Ben Friend." When we pass a park he yells "Ben!" When we played at Janelle's the other day Rock told Ben to sit down, as we often say to Rock. He has spent the last few days saying "Sit Down Ben" yet the cutest is when I asked Rock who Jesus loves? Usually Rock says "Rock" This time he gently said Jesus lubs Ben. We will be sad day that is soon that they go back to Canada. We love these guys!!!

We also got a great visit from another awesome friend of mine Joni Beals! I love this girl!

Joni and her sister Sarah helped me put Rock to sleep. We always sing him fun songs before bed however as we all sang Rock laughed uncontrollably. He laughed so hard that I couldn't even sing I also laughed. He is too funny!

I am confident enough in myself to put up this hideous picture. I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled.  This is5, yes5 days after. My face was horrid. This is after swelling went down. I couldn't eat try to eat solid food for a whole week.  Rock didn't even want to hang out with me and neither did Ben!! The surgeon said I'd be unpleasant to be around which was true..He should have warned us of how much of a monster face I'd look like. At least I am now deflated!

Halloween was a blast!!! We went with Joel, Janelle, little Ben and Arianna who were characters from the movie UP! They looked awesome, I should have got a pictures. Rock was a joy to watch. He sprinted house to house saying "Treat" and even sprinted in someone's home! He also dived into a bowl of candy at the end. It was so much fun.
I love Rock's eating chicken in his chicken costume. ha

Trick or Treating with his buddy!

Finally, just a little about our Rock. We have been given an amazing little boy. He is so much bundled into such a beautiful package. He loves to laugh and make us laugh, he loves to dance and sing, he is incredibly tidy, he is loving, as well as such a little boy who loves to kick his soccer ball, jumps off high surfaces, loves to climb everything and is very independent. We could not have dreamed up someone more spectacular! Rock can count to 6 now thanks to a favorite Veggie Tells book. He will make sure everyone around him folds their arms when its time to pray over his food as well as pray every time we add more food to his plate. He is such a good boy. He has a great vocabulary at 19 months old. I love when he copies me when I am not expecting it- I said Awesome Job to him and he spent the next few hours saying "Awesome" He is a pure joy. We are very  blessed.

Is this thing on?!?....

I thought about starting a blog quite sometime ago, especially with so many friends and family spread out all across the world! Who wouldn't want to read about out little life yet I thought , "well not while it's just me and Ben, I'll do it when we have a child...not while I'm pregnant...I'll wait until we do our family photos...etc" I finally decided, in the words Ben OFTEN is quoting me...Do It, Just Do It, Just Do It NOW!! Therefore, I am "Just Doing It Now!"
I thought this would be a fun way to add to my journaling so with that I will begin by telling our story...

Our Story begins long before we ever met. I was at church in young womans when a leader had us write a letter to our future husbands. I personally thought how silly is this I cant even drive yet! So with that attitude I began an insincere list that included a fun story of our meeting and most importantly a great last name. Elders came and went and my YW leaders would say, "Cydni, there is an Elder Thigpen (and so forth) will that do for a last name?" The answer was always No, until one day..."Cydni, there is an Elder Beer..." I agreed to be married to this Elder the moment I heard his last name, Cydni Beer! Perfect!!!
Then one day as I walked into my dear friend Joni's home, I saw the most stunningly beautiful man  I had ever seen. I didn't care if his last name was Smith- no offense. I loved him as soon as I saw him. Lucky for me, as I found out, it was indeed The Elder Beer! I was already always at Joni's house, but I don't remember ever going home the three months Elder Beer was in Pima. I told everyone of my plans to marry him. I'm sure most people thought I was joking - my journal and Joni's family knew the truth I was madly in love!!! Though,  Elder Beer knew a little concerning my plans because a lovely lady from church, Julie Goodmen, told him about a homely little girl (me) who was planning our wedding, not awkward at all--thanks Julie! To make a long story not as long -- I stalked the Elder. I was always there when he was at Joni's, because she was a great friend and would call me when the Elders came over. I even left Lord of the Rings half way through the movie to take home Joni's little brother,  who was too scared to watch the rest, only because Elder Beer was at his house. I know that's sounds horrible, but just remember love is blind and so it's not so horrible I left the movie I didnt even know what was going on, I was trying to figure out how to get back to Joni's house. Anyway, Elder Beer paid zero attention to me, but that was a minor obstical to overcome.
One day Elder Beer suggested Joni's younger sister write his brother AJ a letter to convince him to go to Eastern Arizona College. He thought he would really like it there and it would be good for him. So, I wrote him..I saw it as a great oppertunity to get to know my future brother-in-law! He wrote back and came out to EAC. I was working, going to school and doodling Elder Beers name everywhere so I didnt get to know AJ too well at the time. Christmas came and went and school was getting ready to start when the same lovely lady, Julie, called me and said guess who is in town...? At this time, I had backed off the stalking of my true love, so I didnt know he was there.Yet the reason for my existence (elder beer) had returned to the Gila Valley to drop his brother off back at school!  I was too embarassed to go find him since he knew I had planned our wedding to show up at his door was a bit much...right..? I dressed up every day hoping God would force this man into my life and make him fall in love with me and marry me so I could be the Cydni Beer I had been dreaming about!! That's not what happened at all, in fact, what happened is I went and showed up at his door... Our relationship began on what was meant to be a lie. I told him my class was cancelled and heard he was in town...it was meant to be a lie meaning I found out later my class had been cancelled so my plan to lie and ditch class for the sake of true love was destroyed. Benjamin also knows a my soul mate Elder Beer invited me in and then out for subway at the park. We talked for a few hours then I went home with Benjamin Beer's phone number and he went home, called his father and told him he was pretty sure he had found the girl he would marry! (not that he had to look too hard to find me, since I knocked on his door!)  We talked on the phone every single day for 3 month while I was going to school and he was in Utah. I came out to visit Ben ( I could call him Ben at this point we were tight like that) with my traveling supplies to last for one week. I remember calling my mother from Utah and explaining to her I was not coming back to Pima. On May 28, 2005 I married Elder Beer.
I knew I loved him but I didnt know how amazing, intelligent, funny, fit (I had a hunch about this one..) ambious, and just all around cool he is, of course those are all secondary to my last name.
I love Ben more than I loved him drawing hearts around his name in  my highschool photography class. Oh yes the butterflies are still there! We now have an amazing 17 month old child, Rock. I get to stay home with the little guy and drag him to all the places I love to go like the zoo, aquarium, pool and so forth. Ben sells BMWs (yes that is a plug..) and pretty much crushes everyone because he is down right sensational.  If ever I need a simple reminder of what I have I just slip the Elder Beer name tag on that beautiful man and remember that things always work out just fine.
